Gender Confusionby ~Artistic-Demise

Simba was so happy to see Nala, but when he brought up her past and responsibility, her attitude changed drastically.

"Why should I go back? I have no reason too. All they would expect from me is to get married. No one would have believed that I could rule the Pridelands on my own."

Nala glared at her, ashamed of her and who she had become.

"Simba, it's your kingdom and your right. You have to fight Scar and take your place as queen. I believe you can do it without a mate, because you are Mufasa's daughter. You are strong."

Simba snorted in retort.
"But I am still only female. Even if I defeat Scar, the pride will still expect me to find a mate. Why can't a female rule on her own?"

She then glanced at her friend.

"Why don't you fight Scar and become King? It's your right just as much as it is mine since you were my betrothed."

"Because I left for the sake of my mother, so she wouldn't have to see me die. I can't even get near the borders of the Pridelands without being attack by not only the Hyenas, but by the rest of the Pride. If they don't attack the rouge males, they will be killed."

"He sighed and looked down"

"Simba, you are our only hope. Don't let your gender affect your decision. As a female, you hold more power than you know. The Pridelands have become a desolate wasteland with no food and no water. You can enter the Pridelands without being detected, you can stop all the pain and destruction that Scar has caused.."

Simba growled and jumped from the log from which she was walking.

"You don't understand Nala and you never will. I can't go back..."

And with that Simba walked off into the jungle, leaving Nala very hurt and confused. What had happened to his friend, the lioness he once knew. She had gotten lost within the jungle while running from her past.

For this picture I only switched Simba and Nala's gender.
I figured Simba would be the kind of lioness to use the gender card as an excuse. This was a lot of fun to do and I think I did well in switching their gender. Since the contest allows multiple entries, I think I might do another.
